Hard Button

A permanent hardware button displaying an icon found in the button bar below the screen of early Newton devices, including the OMP, MessagePad 100, MessagePad 110, MessagePad 120, and MessagePad 130. A hard button is used either to open a built-in application such as Date Book or to perform a system-wide operation such as undo.

Colloquially known as a silkscreen button, silk button, or bubble.
