Hard Reset

A method of resetting the Newton OS which completely erases all data in the internal memory of a Newton device. A hard reset erases all applications and packages installed by the user, and resets pen alignment, date, time, time zone, and other preferences. Also referred to as a brain wipe.

Not to be confused with a cold boot, which also removes any system updates that have been installed.
