Hot Insertion

A feature pertaining to a device which allows the user to insert a PC card without having to power down the device. The Voyager chipset used in the MessagePad 2000, MessagePad 2100, and eMate 300 includes a PCMCIA controller which supports the ability to hot insert PC cards.

The opposite of hot insertion is hot removal.
